This impact testing equipment can be used to conduct Charpy impact testing at various temperatures ranging from room temperature to -196° C. The calibration of the equipment is carried out according to ASTM E 23 standard. The machine offers the results in digital and analogue modes of display.
Indentation Creep machine

 The maximum load is 500 N (50 kg). Error is 0.1 - 1%.
The ANALYSER inclusive of mechanical unit, pneumatic cylinder and electrical box of the indenter can be used for on-line load measurement during the experimental procedure and to observe the imprint (crater) on the crept specimen, formed due to plastic deformation of the material examined. The penetration depth vs. indentation load is automatically recorded by the control unit of the indentation device throughout the test time.

The system with micro analysis EDAX is an analytical tool can be used to correlate micro level chemical composition with hardness. It can also be used for porosity measurement of base material and their weldments. Element mapping can be done to assess the fracture/ damaged areas. 
Diffusible Hydrogen Analyser

This analyser can find out the diffusible hydrogen in weld metal made of all welding consumables and processes. It works on the principle of Gas Chromatography.

The computer controlled state of art Microscope has very high resolution of 40 nm and magnification up to 2, 00,000 X. It is used for advanced analytical examination of metals and their weld joints. Examination can be done using Secondary electron and back scattered electron modes.  Metallography examination at higher magnifications can be carried out. Fracture surface studies can be carried out to identify the fracture mode and possible causes of failure.  It is used for assessing the creep damage of high temperature service components in power and process industries.
Optical microscope with image analyser    The microscope has a maximum magnification of 1000X. Special software is attached to the system for accurate image capture and storage.  The image analysis software allows rapid scanning of one or several areas of the sample and perform several measurements
Stress Corrosion Analyser The analyser is designed specifically to determine the stress corrosion susceptibility of materials. It can be used to carry out tests as per NACE Test Standard TM0177-96
Weld Corrosion Analyser       The analyser is based on electrochemical technique and the cyclic sweeps are used to measure corrosion that proceeds at about the same rate all over the metals surface (uniform) and corrosion at discrete sites on the surface       e.g., pitting, crevice and stress corrosion cracking (localized). The various tests include a full range of DC corrosion tests; i.e. polarization, potentiostatic, galvanic, etc., critical pitting/ crevice temperature, and inhibitor testing.                           
Air Jet Erosion Tester

Diffusible Hydrogen Analyser

It is used for the measurement of cold extracted gas. The design and the measurement accuracy are in conformance with the requirement of standards. Diffusible hydrogen is calculated at NTP condition thereby diffusible hydrogen in ml / 100g can be calculated. 
Magnetic Barkhausen Noise analyser The Magnetic Barkhausen Noise (MBN) analyser can be used for evaluating residual stresses. In this method, when a magnetic field is induced in a ferromagnetic material, the magnetic domain walls are displaced and this produces a magnetic noise called Barkhausen noise. This noise indicates the state of the material surface and by comparing with a known specimen the residual stress is measured.
High Temperature strain measurement calibration system 
The calibrator has three zone temperature controls for the specimen. The equipment has the facility of loading the specimen up to 5000 Kg. upto 300° C.
The equipment is used for calibrating the procedure for measurement of strains at elevated temperature using weldable strain gages under static and dynamic modes.
Strain Measurement System (Hole Drilling kit)

Depth of the hole of 2.00 mm 
This is a semi destructive method for measuring the residual stresses using strain gages. The strain gage is fixed on the component under test and a hole is drilled in the spot where the measurement is to be made. The drilling relieves the stresses locally and the relaxation produced locally is measured by the strain gages. Using the relieved strains, the residual stress is evaluated.

This portable, highly accurate, precise instrument can be used for measurement of dynamic strains both at room and at elevated temperatures. The software has the facility of storing the strain data during testing and can be retrieved after the testing for further analysis.
